Unit 126 began activities in the ETO on the Normandy Beach with the 95th Division after traveling to Versailles with the company and back again. The 95th was having daily inspections of shelter tents and Equipment, which the unit opposed, not successfully, but never-the-less the stay with the 95th was short. We were assigned to XIX Corps, where Lt Hope, the corps photo officer, Split the unit, sending Sgt Daum and Tec 5 Karr to the 29th Division and Sgt Hunt and Tec 5 Guinn to the 30th Division, while Lt Babbitt tried to keep up with all three outfits. But soon the unit was assigned intact to the 102d Division, which was just moving into winter quarters in Ubach, Germany. (Settling down was a good thing since the unit was immobilized with souvenirs, stoves, radios, and power plants).

Just before the crossing of the Roer the unit was reassigned to the 35th Division. Pfc Kageff joined the unit to pinch-hit for Sgt Hunt, Who was “vacationing” in England. After returning from an assignment of an American-British link-up, Karr casually remarked that he had bumped offs two Jerries, on the fly. He attributed his accuracy to Daum's driving.

After reaching the Rhine with the 35th, the unit moved to XVI Corps and worked on special assignments. Sgt Hunt rejoined the unit via the “Repel Depels” and the unit worked with the 75th Division for a short while, during the final days of hostilities in the ETO. The unit moved to the 3rd Armored Division for the last assignment in the ETO and a little later orders came to rejoin the company to prepare for moving to the United States.
